Ingredients:
• 1 unfilled pie shell
• 1/4 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1/2 cup light corn syrup
• 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
• Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
• Bake the pie shell for 5 to 7 minutes.
• Cool.
• Reduce heat to 375 degrees F.
• Cream butter with brown sugar.
• Add eggs, one at a time.
• Stir in corn syrup, vanilla and salt.
• Add pecans, mix well.
•  Pour filling into pie crust.
• Bake on center rack of oven for 60 to 70 minutes (see tips for doneness, below).
• Cool for 2 hours on wire rack before serving.

Recipe tips: Pie is done when center reaches 200°F. Tap center surface of pie lightly – it should spring back when done.For easy clean up, spray pie pan with cooking spray before placing pie crust in pan. If pie crust is overbrowning, cover edges with foil.
